St. Petersburg Florida

St. Petersburg Florida is the 5th largest city in the state of Florida and located in the county of Pinellas. The city is often referred to as St. Pete by the locals. St. Petersburg is located in the West Central part of the state and was founded in 1888. St. Pete has been nicknamed the "The Sunshine City" and won a Guinness World Record by logging the most consecutive days of sunshine, 768 days.

St. Petersburg rainy season runs from June through September, and like Tampa FL, St. Pete is occasionally affected by tropical storms and hurricanes. Although one hasn't hit St. Pete head on since 1946. The climate in St. Petersburg could be described as humid-subtropical. 


St. Petersburg Population


According to a 2010 consensus, St. Pete has nearly 250,000 people, making it the largest city in Pinellas County. There was actually a -1.4% drop in population from 2000 to the 2010 consensus. Approximately 68% of residents in St. Petersburg are white caucasian. St. Petersburg has more than 100 neighborhoods and 130,000 households. With its beautiful weather, low cost of living, St. Pete is becoming a destination for retirement.
